A source term tells you where a product page or catalog may live; it does not verify the seller or item. Check whether the live title, images, variants, and URL destination still match the spreadsheet row before using or converting the link.
What the four source terms usually signal
Taobao
A marketplace product link. Look for the live item title, current variants, seller context, and whether the listing still matches the saved row.
Weidian
A marketplace or shop link. Product pages can change or disappear, so compare the live images and option labels with the spreadsheet summary.
1688
A marketplace often associated with wholesale listings. Variants, minimum quantities, and pricing context may be more complicated than one spreadsheet cell suggests.
Yupoo
Often an image catalog rather than a complete transaction page. A catalog entry may need a separate product or contact link, and the images alone do not verify availability.
Read the destination before the label
The domain is the first clue, but not the whole answer. A shortened or converted URL can hide the original destination. Once opened, compare four things: page type, item identity, available variants, and source freshness. If any one of them conflicts with the row, stop and resolve the mismatch.
Five mismatch checks
- Category: Does the external page show the same kind of item?
- Variant: Does the row refer to a color or size that still appears?
- Images: Are the distinctive details consistent with the saved photos?
- Destination: Did a product URL redirect to a shop home page, login, or unrelated listing?
- Context: Is the price or description being read in the same unit and variant context?
What a link converter changes—and what it does not
A converter may extract an item identifier, remove tracking parameters, or format a source URL for another interface. It does not confirm quality, authenticity, seller reliability, current stock, photos, measurements, price, or shipping. If a converted result points somewhere different from the original source, treat that as a new link to inspect rather than a successful verification.
Keep the original source URL beside any converted version. If the two paths stop matching, the original gives you a way to investigate what changed.
Open the destination, then compare it with the row
Once the page loads, check the title, images, variants, and page type against what you saved. A redirect to a shop home page, login screen, or unrelated item is a mismatch, even if the URL opened successfully.
If you use a link converter, keep the original address beside the new one. Conversion changes the format; it does not confirm the seller, listing, photos, price, stock, or availability.
A safer handoff to an external directory
Before opening Findsindex or another directory, write down the category and the detail you are trying to confirm. Use category pages when you need peers; use search when you have a product term or source URL. Do not paste account, payment, or personal information into a public search field.
